The Balaur — NPC Faction
A third NPC faction known as the Balaur serves as the game's main antagonists. The Balaur are a draconic race originally created by Aion to rule and lead the other races; though initially appearing as benevolent monarchs, they became obsessed with power and sought to enslave the other races. They come in all shapes and sizes, from humanoid creatures to towering dragons, with sub-races players can encounter in AION 2 such as the Ancient Drakan, Draconute and Naga.
